Rajeev Kumar brings over 16 years of experience as a public health professional and currently serves as the Project Coordinator for the “Advancing Tobacco Control” project at PGIMER, Chandigarh. In this capacity, he collaborates with national and state-level officials, offers technical support across five focus states, and organizes workshops to strengthen stakeholder capacity. Among his significant achievements, he contributed in the establishment of the National Resource Centre for Tobacco Control (www.rctcpgi.org), a WHO-recognized initiative. He has also been instrumental in publishing the bi-monthly Tobacco Free Times newsletter and has represented the project at prominent platforms, including the 50th Union World Lung Conference, COP28, COP29, and the 4th, 5th, and 6th National Conference on Tobacco or Health.

Rajeev has actively participated in international forums such as the Jeju International Future Generation Forum 2022 in South Korea, the World Conference on Lung Health 2020 in Hyderabad, and the UN Business and Human Rights Forum 2023 in Thailand. He is an alumnus of the Scholars Program (2021–2022) by the Institute for Global Tobacco Control (IGTC) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH).

In addition to his professional contributions, Rajeev has played a key editorial role as Associate Editor for the book "Tobacco Control Priorities in India: Progress, Challenges, and Solutions", Editorial Assistant for two editions of the "Compendium on Good Replicable and Innovative Practices in Tobacco Control in India (GRIP)", and Assistant Editor for the bi-monthly newsletter "Tobacco Free Times", published under the Resource Centre for Tobacco Control at PGIMER, Chandigarh.
